VACLAV NELHYBEL (1919-1996) was born in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) and studied composition at the Prague Conservatory of Music and he read musicology at the Universities of Prague and Fribourg, Switzerland. In 1957, he came to the USA where he soon became a citizen and resident of New York City.
